On 9th August, at Shoonya, fifteen inspiring women gathered for The Soma Circle—a soulful journey of breath, movement, sound, and sisterhood. As the session opened with grounding breathwork, you could feel a palpable calm ripple through the room. The flowing somatic yoga warmed bodies once stiff with daily stress, while the restorative sound bath created a cocoon of tranquility. Women who entered carrying untold stories and hidden tension began to open, share, and find presence within a supportive circle.
In a world where the daily grind can leave women physically drained and emotionally overwhelmed, finding sacred time and space to reconnect with oneself is more important than ever. Aprisio Sheritage, part of the larger Aprisio community dedicated to meaningful midlife experiences, recently hosted The Soma Circle—a specially curated women's wellness experience focused on holistic well-being through mindful movement, breathwork, and community connection.
This blog shares the essence of The Soma Circle (TSC), why Aprisio Sheritage created it, who facilitated this transformative session, and the powerful outcomes experienced by the women who joined. At its heart, this story is about real people, real stories, and the nurturing embrace of a close-knit community.
Aprisio Sheritage is a women-focused community initiative designed to curate and create diverse experiences for women, covering a wide spectrum of interests and needs—wellness, cultural, social, creative, and more. It embraces anything and everything that enriches women’s lives, providing an inclusive platform for connection, learning, and empowerment. Through Aprisio Sheritage, women gain access to thoughtfully curated gatherings and programs that reflect their varied passions and life journeys, fostering authentic relationships and shared growth within a supportive community.

The Soma Circle was lovingly crafted as a morning wellness session bringing together mindful movement, emotional healing, and community bonding in one seamless flow.
The experience began with a grounding breathwork session, inviting participants to cultivate calm, presence, and intention for the day ahead. This gentle introduction set a serene tone and helped women tune into their inner world.

Following this was a somatic flow practice—an elegant blend of yoga and intuitive movement designed to increase body awareness, ease muscle tension, and activate mind-body harmony. This practice welcomed participants of all levels, with movements that felt both nurturing and empowering.
Next came a restorative sound bath, where therapeutic sounds enveloped the group, promoting deep relaxation and nervous system reset. Participants described this as a soothing experience that quieted mental chatter and created a sense of spaciousness within.

The session was enriched by an expert-led discussion from Mocoons Wellness on hormonal balance and feminine well-being. This segment bridged ancient wisdom and contemporary science, offering practical insights women could integrate into their daily lives to support emotional and physical health.
Finally, The Soma Circle closed with a gratitude circle—an opportunity for heartfelt sharing, reflection, and building community bonds through vulnerability and support.
Here’s what Thekkada Bhavani Nanjunda, India’s top cross-country skier who has won three gold medals at the 2024 Khelo India Winter Games, has to say about her experience from The Soma Circle:
“Like, you know, as an athlete, I think it's very important for us to have a very focused mind. And it's hard like in this generation when there's a lot of things around us, it's very hard to keep your focus on the same thing which you are wanting to achieve for a very long time. And I think this experience was really amazing because, you know when your mind is full of chaos and then you have things which will guide you through it and bring back the focus which sometimes gets lost in between the process. I think the experience really helped me. The breathing exercise, which I also do during my training and before my races. And the musical thing was something which I experienced for the first time. And I love music because I think music is one thing which calms you down and makes you feel any emotion. You can just listen to music and feel better. And experiencing a music therapy like this was something which I've never done before and it kind of was very soothing for me. And yoga, obviously, I do practice yoga and mind breath workouts and stuff. So for me, it was an amazing experience overall.”
Why Did Aprisio Sheritage Host The Soma Circle?
Aprisio Sheritage recognized a critical need among women in midlife: holistic, accessible wellness experiences that honor the complex interplay of body, mind, and community. Hormonal changes, emotional fluctuations, and the pressures of modern womanhood call for healing spaces rooted in empathy and expert knowledge.
Hosting The Soma Circle aligned with Aprisio’s vision of creating soulful circles that restore well-being and help women reclaim joy, balance, and vitality. It was about more than yoga or breathwork—it was a reclamation of self, grounded in sisterhood.
Here’s what Neelam, an Aprisio member has to say about the experience:
“Such an amazing session started off brilliantly with all the breath work, and then we had a great round of yoga, which kind of, you know, made the body warm up. And the sound bath was really, really soothing and calming. And, yeah, I wish we had more time that we could all do a little more talk about it now. Now we are prepared to talk as well.”
The session was thoughtfully facilitated by wellness experts, including leaders from Mocoons Wellness, who brought deep knowledge of hormonal health and feminine well-being. Their guidance combined clinical insight with holistic approaches, enriching the community’s learning.
